Leeds, Halifax, Edinburgh, Manchester, London & Bristol – We’re happy with home working the majority of the time, however you’ll need to be in office 1 or 2 days per week.
Salary & Benefits: The base salary banding for this role is £29,484 - £34,398 outside of London and £34,398 to £40,131 in London plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (based on 6% employee contribution), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Our Cloud Services department is looking for a motivated individual to ensure that the appropriate security controls are in place, focusing on keeping bank services safe while simultaneously supporting programme timescales and business outcomes.
You’ll be involved with security requirements, designs, risks and defining controls to mitigate these risks. Guiding other areas of technical programmes to embed security in the best manner for the Bank. As a Cloud Security Analyst, you will be working across the Group’s strategic cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) to realise the next generation of services that form the Bank’s vision for 2023 and beyond.
Our remit includes delivering new platforms, Security products and services whilst continually improving our existing ones. This Cloud Security Analyst role will involve working in one of our Product Teams where responsibilities will include Build as well as Run tasks.

Specific activities which you’ll be responsible for include things like;
- Building knowledge and experience of operating in Cloud environments and Engineering teams
- Working with a Lead Engineer to identify a domain area to focus development and upskilling in to: building Security domain knowledge in addition to skillsets essential for an engineering role
- Supporting SMEs with fulfilling core processes and tasks within a Product Team: fulfilling run tasks, delivering enhancements to existing capabilities / processes
- Working with senior engineers to develop and enhance onboarding and upskilling processes for new joiners to the team
- Identifying skills gaps and development needs. Defining and driving a development plan to become an established Cloud Security Engineer!
What do we need to see from applicants?
- Passionate about technology - wanting to commit to building skills to advance a career in Cloud Engineering and Cyber Security
- Readiness to take on challenges and willingness to learn. Identifying areas requiring support to fulfil tasks, confidence to engage experienced team members to help with upskilling when needed
- Growth / resilient approach. The ability to take on challenges and develop an approach to overcome knowledge gaps / areas requiring upskilling
- Able to be work with a Senior or Lead engineer, understand tasks, manage customers with progress updates / support needed as tasks are delivered
- Awareness of the objectives of the Bank with its cloud vision, appreciation of the scope, pressures and demands of the role. Commitment to put in the required effort to upskill to become a skilled and effective engineer in the team!
Desirable Skills to have (experience of these would be a bonus)
- Awareness of key DevOps concepts, tools and languages: Source Control (GitHub), IDE / Interactive Development Environments (IDE), Command Line Interface (CLI); Terraform, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD, IaC, PaaS
- Awareness of Public Cloud environments - Azure, GCP or AWS
- Cloud and Security certifications
- Worked within a technical / engineering team
