We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Trials Assistant to join the Experimental Medicine and Rheumatology (EMR) trials group based within Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) based at the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford. The post holder will assist with the running of clinical trials managed by the group in collaboration with the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU).
The post holder time will assist trial teams to successfully deliver research studies to the highest standards by carrying out both administrative tasks and undertaking data entry and other data management activities. The post holder will work across a number of trials as well as provide administrative support to the EMR group.
As Clinical Trials Assistant you will provide administration in compliance with the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care, the Data Protection Act and other applicable legislation and guidance. You will support the maintenance of the Trial Master File throughout the research, under the guidance of the trial management team and support the organisation and conduct of meetings such as trial committees under the guidance of senior staff). You will also deal with routine trial queries and coordinate the timely collection of study data from collaborating hospitals, working within, and following, established standard operating procedures relating to data co-ordination and general record keeping. The post holder will carry out general office duties such as photocopying, filing, dealing with mail and any other comparable tasks as required.
You will be educated to A-Level or equivalent secretarial/administrative qualifications or relevant experience and have experience of using administrative skills in an office environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as proficiency in spoken/written English, and a high level of computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office Excel and Word is essential. Previous data management experience within a clinical research study and experience of working within an academic research environment would be desirable.
This is a full-time fixed term appointment for 12 months.
