Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic physicist to join our radiotherapy physics team at the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre based at Glan Clwyd Hospital. We expect you can demonstrate an interest in medical/radiotherapy physics, but offer on the job training and the opportunity to work towards registration as a clinical scientist.

We provide radiotherapy treatments to about 1800 patients per annum, using four Varian linear accelerators, eclipse planning system, prosoma virtual simulation, ortho-voltage treatment unit and a CT scanner. We were early implementers of VMAT, FFF VMAT and AI based outlining and with your assistance we will continue to develop the service, offer SABR and SGRT and continue to modernise our equipment.

You will provide support to all aspects of the work in our group such as treatment planning, treatment machine QA and dosimetry, and assist in the commissioning of new equipment and treatment techniques.
