Job description
The Radiation Physics group provides specialist clinical, scientific and radiation protection services to a wide variety of public and private organisations. The group provides training for STP and PTP trainees under the Modernising Scientific Careers scheme. The Nuclear Medicine Physics section provides support across a wide range of nuclear medicine services, including imaging, non-imaging, PET/CT and radionuclide therapies.
You will be a proactive physicist looking to make a difference in how nuclear medicine physics services are delivered locally and regionally. Promising candidates with relevant qualifications and who either have less experience or who are working towards registration are encouraged to apply as training and support will be available to help you develop to your true potential (subject to an amended job description and salary band), including support to complete STP training.
You will be the lead for the provision of support to the two static PET/CT services in Kent and will work across the Nuclear Medicine Physics services, providing support in SPECT/CT, non-imaging procedures and the radionuclide therapy services.
The Radiation Physics group is actively involved in clinical trials and scientific research. The group has, in recent years, won significant new contracts spanning the public and private sectors and this post is key to supporting these contracts.
We are able to offer you flexible working hours and continuous professional development within a supportive environment. The Radiation Physics group can offer opportunities to work in diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, radiation protection (for diagnostic radiology, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine / PETCT) and non-ionising radiation. The department will support people wishing to start working towards or to maintain MPE / RPA / RWA / LPA certification.
