Job overview
Due to expansion of the pharmacy team, an opportunity has now arisen in Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and confident Senior Clinical Pharmacist with excellent communication skills. The post holder will lead the delivery of clinical services to the inpatient unit providing the leadership & support to the team of pharmacists and technicians. The post will commence on 1st November 2023 and be based at Spring view Hospital on the Wirral.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings, providing medicines education and comprehensive clinical services to a dedicated area. You will need post-registration experience relevant to hospital pharmacy and will have a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent qualification. A Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatric Pharmacy would be desirable and you should have an interest in, or some experience of mental health. Applicants must be a registered practising pharmacist with the GPhC. All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.
New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy (4 Years Course) or Equivalent
- Completed and passed Pre-Registration training and professional exam
- General Pharmaceutical Council Registered Practising Pharmacist Member
- Post-graduate Certificate or Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experiential learning
- Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
- Independent and/or Supplementary Prescriber
- Member of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy
Experience
Essential criteria
- Good leadership and supervisory skills
- Able to effect and manage change
- Understanding of and ability to implement trust priorities
- High level of computer literacy
- Hospital Pharmacy experience or experience of working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
- Research or Audit experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience in management of others
- Project Management experience
Knowledge and Expertise

- Expert knowledge and practical clinical skills, within area of own expertise
