Job description

We are looking for a pharmacist to join our growing clinical pharmacy team who wants to develop their skills in a variety of clinical specialities.

In this post, you will be expected to perform medicine reconciliations, screen drug charts and work alongside multi-disciplinary teams in ensuring that patients get the best care. You will be responsible for facilitating discharges safely and ensuring safe medicine provision on your ward.There will be opportunity to help manage students and trainee pharmacists develop.

Each rotation has clinical objectives that are set by your line manager that will be reviewed at each rotation to ensure that progress is being made. Rotations include but is notexhaustive; acute, general and specialist medicine, general surgery, paediatrics/medicines info and external rotations to our local Adult and Paediatric MentalHealthServices.

Applicants must be registered with the GPhC, have good written and oral communication skills, the ability to apply evidence/guidelines to practice and be aware of their own limitations and can refer to others for advice when necessary. Time management and prioritisation are also important skills for this role.

Further to this, all foundational pharmacists are provided with a rotational role across our 3 largest hospital sites to experience these specialities in different working environments.

Alongside the extensive training received in-house, with regular clinical education sessions in a variety of clinical topics enrolling on to the NHS England newly qualified pharmacist course will also be encouraged for any newly qualified pharmacists. We also actively encourage pharmacists from other sectors and have a wealth of experience within the team to support transition from one area of pharmacy to hospital. This training will be heavily supported by a network of educational supervisors, practice supervisors and experienced pharmacists and technicians that will all be available to support you.
