The Yorkshire Clinic provides care and services for elective surgical patients within a broad range of surgical specialities from Urology, Gynaecology, Colorectal, Orthopaedic, ENT, General Surgery, Cosmetics and Plastics. We also have some Medical patients.
The Yorkshire Clinic is recruiting a spinal nurse specialist (Bank) to support the new service introduction and provide advice, training and support in speciality introduction.
The successful applicant will be able to evidence previous leadership experience and passion to deliver excellent clinical and customer care, with clear commitment to efficient team working demonstrating effective communication/interpersonal skills to support the commercial success of the business.
The Spinal CNS role is pivotal in the overseeing of the entries into the British spine registry and managing the required associated audits; co-ordinating and supporting MDT clinics; operation lists including pre-admission and simple follow up cases. The role as nurse specialist is to provide a support and advice, enabling high quality accessible and timely clinical service to patients with spinal conditions who require elective surgery.
The successful applicant must have experience in developing clinical services and the skills required to educate and support staff to deliver clinical care competently for patients undergoing spinal surgery.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients undergoing spinal surgery.
Staff training and competency assessment
Support hospital Head of Clinical Service meet all regulatory requirements around spinal surgery; audits, MDT, outcome monitoring, training, equipment, staff competence, policy development.
Essential for the post:
- Strong clinical background
- Proficient computing skills
- SLIP course or equivalent
- NMC- Registered General Nurse
- ILS
- Alert/AIM
- IV Skills Certificate
- Leadership experience
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
