A vacancy has arisen to appoint a highly motivated, innovative and adaptable individual with leadership skills to join both our Children’s Epilepsy Service.
To come and join our team you will need to have a good knowledge and understanding of childhood epilepsy and an aptitude to learn quickly, be a RSCN / RN (Child) and hold a recognised teaching/mentoring qualification. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously, whilst reporting back to the Team leader; have a positive attitude and be keen to take on new challenges. You will need to possess excellent clinical and leadership skills, as well as clear and compassionate communication skills. IT literacy is essential.
We would welcome and encourage informal visits to our service.
This post involves working as part of the team within a busy Paediatric Community Epilepsy service. In this role you will work well as part of a Multidisciplinary Team, undertaking home visits in the Bradford area, assisting in outpatient clinics, delivering patient and staff education and training. You will develop management plans with ward based staff, the child and their family, in line with NICE guidance and the ‘best practice’ criteria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a defined caseload and will provide specialised nursing care, advice and education.
As part of our team you will support families at diagnosis and throughout the child and families’ journey, empowering them to be confident and competent with their condition.
A current full UK / EU driving licence is essential in addition to access to a vehicle to carry out duties (reasonable adjustments will be considered).
