Job description
Clinical Governance Manager
Salary circa £40,000 - £50,000
Good governance is not merely compliance- it is a competitive advantage. As healthcare systems and innovation in Healthtech progress and evolve at pace, we value the critical role that regulation plays in ensuring good customer outcomes. And it is for this reason that we are transforming our Clinical Risk and Governance team at Aviva Health: to accelerate our journey towards value-based healthcare.
If you are a clinician with significant clinical risk and governance experience, confident leadership skills, and are seeking a new challenge in a commissioning setting, this is the opportunity for you. You will be joining our vibrant and ambitious Clinical Risk and Governance team at a stage where you can truly influence and impact the future shape of our clinical risk and governance strategy.
A bit about the job:
As one of the Clinical Governance Manager, you will evaluate and monitor the performance of clinical providers, supporting the development of new customer propositions, and horizon scanning for external factors and events which could influence our approach to clinical risk management.
This is a great opportunity to be responsible for evaluating and monitoring the performance of a broad range of clinical providers across our UK Health and Protection (H and P) businesses. You will support the development of new customer propositions and wellbeing services and maintain an awareness of external factors which influence our approach to clinical risk management.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Healthcare professional with active GMC, HCPC or NMC registration
- Experience of working in a senior clinical role in the NHS or private healthcare sector and applying your clinical knowledge to care pathway design, implementation, and performance monitoring
- Good working knowledge of CQC regulations applicable to independent healthcare services, independent doctors/clinics, and online primary care
- Demonstrable experience in clinical risk management, clinical audit activities and a customer-focussed approach
- Evidence of the ability to draft clear, accurate, and succinct reports on clinical governance matters and present findings/recommendations to senior leadership and business committees
What you’ll get for this role:
- Salary circa £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Generous pension (starting level Aviva contributes 8% when you contribute 2%)
- Eligibility for annual performance bonus
- Family friendly parental and carer’s leave
- 29 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days
- Up to 40% discount for Aviva products
- Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars
- Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme
- 21 volunteering hours per year
