Job description
TRC Healthcare have teamed up with an established provider of specialist mental health care across the UK. They are currently on the search for an experienced Clinical / Forensic Psychologist, with experience in Clinical or Forensics.
Reporting to the Hospital Director, the Psychologist would work within a multidisciplinary team as well as other agencies involved in providing excellent care and support.
The Role:
The main purpose of this position is to provide specialist knowledge and support to the provision of high-quality and diverse psychological assessment and treatment across the hospital.
- To work under the direction and supervision of the Lead Psychologist in the provision of psychology services across the hospital.
- To have prior experience (either pre or post qualification) of working with service users with complex mental health issues. Prior experience of working in a secure inpatient setting would be advantageous.
- To develop competency in supervision through the provision of clinical supervision to Assistant Psychologists within the department, ensuring that they are meeting professional practice expectations and the BPS code of ethics.
- To guide and support the continuing professional development of an assistant psychologist.
- To work alongside the Lead Psychologist in contributing the ongoing analysis of psychological outcomes across the hospital, and to contribute to wider service evaluation.
- To undertake appropriate research and audit projects and to provide research advice to colleagues undertaking research.
- To maintain registration as a practitioner psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council.
- To ensure the development, maintenance, and dissemination of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD opportunities.
