Clerical Officer

West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit a Clerical Officer to join the team to help deliver an effective and efficient Coronial service. You will provide an essential liaison between the team, relatives of the deceased, and other agencies involved in dealing with sudden, violent or unnatural deaths.
We are looking for someone with previous experience of working within an office who has a high level of typing speed and accuracy. You will have excellent communication and listening skills to be able to provide advice and guidance to a range of people. You will have a sensitive and compassionate approach to deal with bereaved people.
It is important that you are good with people, great in a team and naturally resilient. You will also be approachable, understanding, and a problem solver. You will have the ability to give accurate information and diffuse difficult situations, as well as have an understanding and appreciation of religious and cultural requirements following death.
We will also create a succession plan for any future vacancies.
