Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Emptying waste bins, replacing bin liners, transporting waste material to designated areas.
  • Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops.
  • Mopping floors with wet or damp mops.
  • Suction cleaning carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets.
  • Using electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and training).
  • Using electrically powered pick up machines.
  • To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments.
  • To replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, sanitizer, hand lotion, paper towels.
  • To clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths and showers.
  • The use of chemical agents as directed by the Supervisor in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, after receiving proper instructions and training.
  • To undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm’s extension from floor level.
  • To clean kitchen areas including fridges and drinks machines and replenish kitchen hand towels and tea towels.
  • Cleaners are to report to the Supervisor any factors that are likely to affect his/her work which they consider that maintenance team should be aware.
  • To correct any audit failure tasks immediately.
  • To carry out all tasks with due regard to the contract specification and all legislation including Health and Safety, and Personal Hygiene.
  • Know and understand the COSHH risk assessments.
  • To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery / equipment immediately.
  • To ensure company provided uniform is kept clean and tidy and is worn at all times whilst at work.
  • To use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships with our customer and ISS colleagues.(Service with a Human Touch)
  • To attend training as required by your Manager.
  • Report all accidents and dangerous occurrences to your line manager.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably requested within the grade of the post.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: £10.50 per hour
