The Norwich Bioscience Institutes Partnership (NBIP) has an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join their busy Facilities department.

The NBI Partnership provides high quality, non-scientific support services for the diverse community of staff, students and visiting workers at the Institutes (the Earlham Institute, John Innes Centre, The Sainsbury Laboratory and Quadram Institute Bioscience) and for the NBI Partnership.

The Facilities Department provides unique Facilities Management Services to the John Innes Institute, the Sainsbury Laboratories, and the Earlham Institute. Our prime objective is to deliver safe, high quality scientific environments, which support scientists involved with market leading, world class research, and our cleaning Team is a key part of providing this environment.
The role:
To undertake general cleaning duties quickly, efficiently and in a safe manner, within a variety of assigned areas ranging from offices, conference facilities and laboratories in accordance with the various service level agreements of the various clients served.
The ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous relevant experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper. Competency in health and safety matters as they relate to the provision of cleaning services is essential, as are excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent time management skills are essential, as is the ability to work on own initiative and the ability to prioritise to meet the demands of the role.
Due to the demands of the role, it is essential for the ideal candidate to be able to handle potentially heavy or awkward cleaning equipment and machinery and to stand/walk for long periods of time (reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability)
Additional information:
Salary on appointment will be £10,400 per annum (£19,240 FTE). This is a part-time post for 20 hours per week offered on an indefinite basis, with core hours of 5am to 9am Monday to Friday.
