Description
- Keen interest in high welfare standards of stock

- Foundation knowledge of tools and equipment
- Capable of working independently or within a small team outside during all weathers
- Capable of physical work
- Willing to learn
- Experience desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
- 540acre Farm, predominantly grass with woodland to make up the acerage.
- Pedigree Red Ruby Devon suckler herd consisting of 70 breeding cows, calving in two blocks; Spring and Autumn
- Business includes selling pedigree breeding stock, beef boxes direct to consumer and beef animals to Phillip Warren
- Start-up flock of pedigree Wiltshire Horns, selling lamb directly to consumer
- Basic animal husbandry (assisting with calving and routine management of both cattle and sheep)
- Tractor work; silaging, mowing, topping, hedge trimming, dung spreading & fertilising
- Fencing
- General farm maintenance
GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 3/D) essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 3/D) essential
Training to be provided
A general farm worker level 2 qualification.
As part of the apprenticeship, you will complete:
- The Emergency First Aid at Work award, which is a minimum
- City & Guilds Level 2 Award in The Safe Application of
Safe use of Pesticides’
Things to consider
You will need to be physically fit and be passionate about the farming environment
- Must have full UK Driving License and own transport
- Basic knowledge of machinery
- Capable of driving a tractor
