Kennedys is looking for Claims Handler to join the Insurance Division. The role will involve managing both A f t er the Event and Before the Event claims for a number of well-known insurers. A substantial proportion of the insureds include SMEs including private residential landlords and farmers, contractors, freelancers and self-employed professionals. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our clients to find creative bespoke risk solutions and driving outcomes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team with excellent long term progression opportunities . You will be able to work from home frequently with travel to the Taunton office at least once a month.

We are experienced in handling major MGA, broker and insurer-led schemes in the UK and internationally and are proud to have one of the largest, longest serving and most experienced teams in the market.
Our team based in Taunton handles claims on behalf of major insurers, managing general agents and insurer -led schemes. We deal with thousands of notifications, which include solicitors' professional indemnity (PI), architects and other construction professionals, accountants, Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs), first party cyber schemes and Before the Event/After the Event (BTE/ATE) claims.
Our claims handlers provide pro-active, responsive, and cost-effective claims management, driven by a desire to provide outstanding client service.

Cases
- Monitoring large and complex litigation covered by ATE policies, such cases can be in a wide variety of areas including: commercial contractual disputes, intellectual property, defamation, insolvency and cross jurisdictional litigation.
- Claims handling adverse costs awards made in litigation covered by ATE policies
- Monitoring litigation covered by BTE policies including claims pursued by insured individuals and SMEs and defence of claims against such insureds.
- Considering coverage issues and instructing panel solicitors on insurers' behalf in coverage disputes with insureds.
Required experience
- Claims handling experience or alternatively paralegal experience (preferably gained at a defendant insurance law firm or with the insurance market).
- Experience of BTE (Before the Event) or ATE (After the Event) claims is ideal but not essential
- Liaison with clients, provision of customer service
- Use of electronic case management systems.
