About the role
The claims team at East Sussex Highways is expanding and we are looking to recruit a claims handler into the team. Third party claims experience (LNID & LID) would be advantageous but not required as full training will be given to the right candidate. You will need to be an excellent communicator who is organised with strong administrative skills. The ideal candidate will also have experience of process review who welcomes, and drives change with positivity and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own case load of PL claims from cradle to grave, whilst keeping up with company and legislative requirements to deliver excellent service.
- Investigate evidence to make informed decisions on claims outcomes, displaying empathy and compassion throughout.
- Liaise with all interested parties and manage stakeholder relationships
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate information to all interested parties, where appropriate.
- Quickly develop your knowledge of Highways and Local Authority policies to become an expert in assessing claims, identifying high-risk claims and managing appointment of solicitors where necessary.
- To input accurate data and ensure data maintenance
- Assessing the value of claims and accurately reserving against PI claims based on information provided at stage 1.
- Adhering to company procedures and taking a proactive approach to accident prevention.
- Provide support to admin function and training to less experienced staff
About you
- Proactive and professional approach with a willingness to learn.
- Excellent IT skills and experience of working with multiple databases as well Microsoft Office 365 (word, excel, outlook, powerpoint and sharedrive)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in third party claims (LNID & LID)
- Excellent customer service skills
- CPR, MOJ, PAP for LVEL/PL and or PAP for LVRTA experience
- Cert CII, CII Dip, FCILEX, ACILEX.
