Job descriptionBackgroundTBC Healthcare is an award-winning provider of Tier 3 multi-disciplinary specialist weight management. The organisation has been providing the NHS with adult services to individuals living with obesity in London and the South of England since 2009. We set out to empower, motivate and inspire people to manage their weight and make lifestyle changes, which enable them to reach their full potential. We offer a fully comprehensive clinically-led service, incorporating dietetic, activity and behaviour change support. Our patients are at the heart of the service, offering flexible treatment to suit all needs. We are looking for a counsellor with an interest in weight management to join our multi-disciplinary clinical teamMain duties of the jobIndividuals referred to the service enter on either a surgical or non-surgical pathway and are offered a one-year treatment pathway. The service offers a fully multi-disciplinary approach to patients living with morbid obesity it incorporates behaviour change, dietetics and activity and is delivered both face to face and remotely. The psychological therapy intervention is based on TBC Healthcare’s specialist material based on CBT behaviour change and motivational interviewing. Full training is provided in delivery the modules as well as assessing and working with bariatric patients’ pre-surgery. You will be expected to manage your own workload of one to one and group sessions. Mandatory and CPD training are provided along with in house supervision.Key responsibilitiesTo deliver the organizations specialist material in group or one to one format to children between 7 and 18To deliver the organizations specialist material in group or one to one formatWorking remotely, being responsible for appropriately managing clinical risk when it arises and to communicate with the governance team on resolution of issues.Assessing patients for suitability to continue on the weight management pathway.To undertake specialist sessions to assess individual’s suitability to proceed to bariatric surgery.To liaise with GPs and other referring stakeholders on patient treatment plans in accordance with the acute team and Services Lead.To maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and abide by internal recording guidelines.To maintain adequate CPD, receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice guidelines and continue to meet UKCP, BABCP or HPCP registration requirements.Maintaining confidentiality of information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and ensure that client confidentiality is always protected.Be a self-starter able to manage own workload.Qualifications:Counselling or Psychotherapy qualification either accredited or working towards registration.At least one year’s post qualification experience working in a mental health setting or with patients living with obesity or long-term health conditions.Experience of working in an NHS or school settingDesirableExperience of delivering behavior change interventions remotelyExperience of working in a multi-disciplinary environmentA real interest in weight management and disordered eating (full training will be provided)What we offerThe opportunity to work in an exciting and innovative companyTraining and development opportunitiesWe are fully committed to flexibility and remote working25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)Competitive salaryAccess to Employee Assistance ProgramAn exciting role that truly makes a difference in individual’s livesWe are committed to equality and diversity and actively promote this in the workplace.Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Flexi Time- 1 year Fixed Term, 3 days a week and will be hybrid working. 1 day a week face to face clinic in Eltham.Salary: £24.00-£60.00 per hourBenefits:FlexitimeWork from home1 day a week face to face clinic in Eltham.Schedule:FlexitimeMonday to FridayWork Location: Remote & 1 day a week face to face clinic in Eltham.Job Types: Part-time, Full-timeSalary: £20.00-£60.00 per hourBenefits:FlexitimeWork from homeSchedule:FlexitimeWork Location: Hybrid remote in London
