Would you like to take up an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic Paediatric Physiotherapy team?
We are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to assist a team of specialist community paediatric physiotherapists in providing a high-quality, comprehensive and proactive clinical physiotherapy service for children and young people (0 to 19) referred to our specialist children's physiotherapy service.
Within Lewisham there is a strong multidisciplinary/multiagency focus to working with children and young people, the post holder will support this and be involved in promoting it for individual families.
We have a physiotherapy team of 14 staff and offer peer support and a strong commitment to continuing professional development.
The post holder will have opportunities to develop clinical, organisational and communication skills in a variety of settings and to work with children of all ages.
The successful candidate will be motivated, organised and committed to working within a team environment.
Within your supporting statement we expect you to outline your awareness of the role of a physiotherapy assistant practitioner and give a clear explanation of how your skills and knowledge would be relevant to this post, with reference to children and young people with additional needs.
The post holder will take part in a variety of activities including responsibility for supporting an allocated care pathway, work within mainstream or special schools, assist with early intervention to identified client groups under five and support the treatment of school-age children. They will take an active part in organising and assisting the physiotherapist in treatment groups for children and engage in supervision and training of education staff, parents and carers as well as physiotherapy students. They will also participate in specific clinics such as posture assessment clinic and orthotic clinic when required.
We are based at the purpose built Children and Young People's (CYP) Centre -- Kaleidoscope in Catford and provide physiotherapy for children and young people in the diverse borough of Lewisham.
Accountable to Children and Young People’s Therapy Manager
To support the provision of a highly specialist physiotherapy service to children and young people in Lewisham, supporting a Physiotherapy team in the management ofa highlycomplex caseload of clients with a variety of developmental disabilities. The post holder will assist, support and at times provide neurological and neurodevelopmental therapy intervention and review for children and young people. The post holder will be working in a variety of locations within the Lewisham area including Kaleidoscope Centre, mainstream schools and nurseries, special needs schools, the family home and hydrotherapy pool
To contribute to the overall development of the physiotherapy service as the service evolves in line with organisational changes.
