Child / Young Person Support Worker
This role will be working with children and young people, on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, to ensure their safety and care. You will have strong attention to detail and be confident in writing detailed notes about your observations of the young person's emotions, interactions and learning journey and with their daily routines.
You will be required to take part in activities with the young person and encourage them to become independent, to follow a routine and focus on their learning.
Ideally, previous experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviour or a range of mental health issues and disabilities would be advantageous, but we appreciate that everyone has to start somewhere, so full training will be provided.
The hours of work are 8.30-4pm Monday to Friday, with night shifts available if you wish. Term time only options are also on offer if required.
Essential Requirements:
Ability to adapt and act swiftly to challenging situations
Have a high level of patience and emotional resilience
A non-judgmental attitude regardless of a person's needs or behaviours
The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations
The ability to keep up with changing standards and codes of conduct
Be willing to undertake training and personal development in line with changing standards
Enhanced DBS check or be willing to make a new application.

Salary: £10.00-£12.50 per hour
