We’re looking for a Child Support Worker to join our Children’s Team at Diverse Abilities.
We need you to help us to deliver exceptional, high-quality care for children living with disabilities.

Diverse Abilities is Dorset’s disability charity who have been supporting children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities.
The people we support are unique. They are people living with profound and sometimes undiagnosed conditions. Their medical needs are complex, their disabilities are life limiting. Despite these disadvantages, we believe they should live the best life possible.

What we need from you:
- Care experience and/or childcare experience.
- Full UK driving licence or the ability get to our respite homes in Parkstone and Hamworthy for 7am.
- Able to work 3 shifts of 7am -9.30am flexibly Monday to Friday (7.5 hours per week). Days are set on a 6-8 week rota.

Why we need you:
Caring for a disabled young person is exhausting for care givers. Respite care is a way they can get a much-needed rest, safe in the knowledge that their child is being cared for and having fun in an environment tailored to their needs. As a child support worker, you will be part of team who provides this for our young people, giving them a sense of self confidence and empowerment.
What the role involves:
- Follow each individual young person’s care plan and contribute to their continuing development.
- Assist young people with intimate and personal care – eg. Personal hygiene, feminine hygiene and bathing.
- Assist young people with eating and drinking, and maintaining their nutritional needs.
- Encourage the young people to maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Support young people to fulfil their social and emotional needs through play/activities – have fun!
