As Trust Board Executive Director, the Chief Nurse and Director of Infection Prevention and Control shares the Trust’s
Board responsibility for the strategic direction, the quality of services provided and financial well-being of the Trust.
This role is accountable for professional leadership, support and clinical supervision of nursing, midwifery, and allied health
professions (AHP) and non-medical clinical support staff, patient experience, safety, quality, risk, infection prevention and
control, end of life care

The Chief Nurse is the Executive Maternity Safety champion working with the Non-Executive Director (NED) to be the trust
board representatives.
The Chief Nurse role plays a key part in improving the experience and involvement of patients, the quality and safety of
their experience and ensuring the protection of vulnerable adults and children to developing, setting and monitoring
standards.
The Chief Nurse takes the Executive lead for the trust charity ‘RAISE’ in collaboration with the charity CEO and NED lead.
