The post is a result of a collaborative cancer patient improvement program aimed at providing people with cancer with an excellent experience of care and commitment to supporting cancer care as the trust's top quality priority. King College NHS Foundation has two Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) sites working closely together, Denmark Hill and PRUH Chartwell CDU.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will join our growing dynamic team. This is a great opportunity to develop new skills while caring for cancer patients. We will offer you support and training
- Booking the daily treatment list and subsequent appointments for patients;
- Ensuring accurate recording of data related to daily attendances;
- Accurately inputting patient demographic details
- Arrange pre-assessment clinic appointments, booking on hospital systems, informing patients, requesting hospital medical notes.
- Comply with the requirements of Data Protection Act.
- Answer phones, sometimes directing calls to other staff through the phone system
- Book appointments
- Answer queries from patients and other staff

- To provide professional reception duties, including the welcoming of patients, booking follow up appointments, dealing with queries, and keeping patients informed of any delays in clinic.
- Maintaining accurate records of patient attendance, departure time and appointment outcomes, and ensuring patients’ personal details are updated.
- To ensure that the reception desk and waiting areas are maintained in a presentable manner.
- To deal with patient and staff enquiries clearly, by phone and in person, promptly, efficiently and politely, resolving local issues and relaying messages where necessary.
- Assisting healthcare support workers with door triage.
- To undertake scanning duties as required by the team sister in charge, allowing for the electronic recording of patient documents and clinical information EPIC.
- To assist in the maintenance of the filing system of hospital records held within the clinic area and to undertake any audits that are required.
