As a Trust we were excited to have been chosen by the Department for Education as their approved sponsor to open a new secondary school to support the increasing population of Barnsley. In September 2021 Trinity Academy St Edward’s opened its doors to a founding cohort of Year 7 students from across the town.
We are now seeking a Chef / Catering Manager to lead the Catering team to deliver a high-quality catering service for students, staff and visitors to the Academy, whilst ensuring high standards for health, safety and food hygiene.
The role of Chef / Catering Manager is such an important one. We want our children to have the very best diet when in school and ensure they eat well and healthily. In order to focus and being able to learn well they must have the right balance of food and nutrients. We are looking for an experienced Chef to use their creative skills to deliver a world-class menu for our children. In the next eighteen months we will be moving to a brand-new school at Broadway that will have a state of the art kitchen in order to support the chef and their team. The successful candidate will get to shape this kitchen and use their creative idea and skills to ensure all children at St Edward’s love having nourishing and tasty meals each day.
What we need:
· Catering or hospitality qualification to level 2 or higher
· Experience of working within a commercial kitchen environment
· Experience of leading a team
· Experience in developing nutritionally balanced and varied menus
· Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety processes and procedures
