Join the Chapati Man Team we are looking for Head/Sous Chef's
Chapati Man latest food to go high street store within East London is seeking a skilled and experienced Chefs to join our team. The Specialty Chefs will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Indian dishes with an emphasis on using traditional recipes and techniques within our brand new kitchen with Rational cooklines. The successful candidates will have extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, a passion for cooking and a creative approach to menu development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook and present a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori dishes, biryanis, and vegetarian options
- Work closely with the Head Chef to develop and update menus, ensuring that dishes are authentic and of the highest quality
- Ensure that all food is prepared and served according to our restaurant's standards of quality, taste and presentation
- Ensure that all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times
- Manage stock levels, order supplies and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring that they follow recipes and procedures accurately
- Monitor food wastage and take appropriate action to minimize waste and increase the efficiency
- Keep up-to-date with new trends and techniques in Indian cuisine and incorporate these into menu development
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a specialty chef in an Indian restaurant
- In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine, including regional variations, ingredients and cooking techniques
- Ability to create and develop new dishes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional recipes
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a busy kitchen environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and supervise junior kitchen staff
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm and a passion for cooking and creating high-quality dishes
