We have a fantastic opportunity within our social impact team to join as our Charities Partnership Manager. Our main focus in the Social Impact team is to build a strong leadership position on a major issue for the UK - Tackling the digital skills gap and championing digital inclusion.
The role of Charities Partnership Manager will lead campaigns with charity partners and helping with colleague engagement on fundraising and volunteering for the charity. It is the perfect position for someone who is a self starter, comfortable leading on your own projects and further contributing to the fantastic work the wider social impact team are doing. What you’ll be doing
Partnerships and stakeholders
- Manage partnerships and this will need careful management to ensure it thrives and is able to engage colleagues in fundraising and volunteering (a key metric both for our team and the wider business now) as well as ensuring that the best parts of our digital skills progarmmes are brought to life through this partnership with impactful results.
- Charity requests made to CEO and Chairman’s office (and other senior stakeholders) regularly and careful and considered replies must be drafted to politely refuse where activity does not support strategy, in a way that does not damage BT’s reputation or the seniors leaders relationships.
Payroll Giving
- Support the management of the Payroll Giving Programme across BT and EE, (supports on Plusnet and Openreach) – including one-off gifts, supporting Senior Exec giving, overseeing Corporate fund match.
- Partner/supplier management - including contract
Policies, procedures and governance
- Support volunteering and charity policies, ensures all parts of BT adhere to our policy.
- Responsibility for compliance authorisation of charity payments made by any part of BT and due diligence in line with BT’s anti-bribery and corruption policy.
- Support billing error payments and approval in line with BT’s regulatory commitments.
- Authorisation of BT assets donated to charity eg. BT Tower, Info Band, sporting tickets etc.
Campaigns and communications
- Supports CFU wide campaigns – eg. Unicef fundraising
- External campaigns - (light touch) support where relevant
- Owns and updates relevant comms channels including ‘Supporting Good causes’ pages
- Events – owns and manages relationships and fundraising at partner events eg: Wembley Cup, SoccerAid, Royal Albert Hall Christmas Concert, and any ad-hoc events
- Represent BT at external charity / industry events
The skills you’ll need
- Knowledge of charity governance and compliance
- Self starter – Real autonomy
- Previous experience leading a team – putting your own ideas into practice
- Good communication and external engagement experience
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Strong project management skills
