About us and the role

Avanti Schools Trust is a unique and vibrant organisation, consisting of a family of schools (eight Primary, two Secondary, two all-through and one in pre-opening) across the country in London, Leicester, Bristol, Hertfordshire, Somerset and Exeter.

We’re excited to welcome applications for an outstanding educational strategic leader to join our trust as CEO Designate and take us into the next phase.

The CEO is responsible for the unique Avanti education of all children and young people in the Avanti academies, embodying and promoting the ethos and values of a spiritually focused Trust that includes the only Hindu faith schools in the country.

The successful appointee will work under our current CEO for the initial year as CEO designate, taking over as CEO in the summer of 2025.

Interviews to take place Monday June 26th and Tuesday June 27th.

Starting salary £100,300 - £119,045 per annum for the initial year, moving in year two to £115,034 - £138,630 per annum

What will you do?

  • They work collaboratively with the Trust Board, recognising and enabling the strategic focus of the Board, and have a mutually supportive relationship with the Chair of the Trust.
  • They ensure that academies in AST benefit from high quality operational support and are enabled to flourish educationally and spiritually.
  • They lead the Executive Team, ensuring the Trust and all its academies are successful over time in a sustainable way.
  • They provide high level reflective strategic leadership and ensure robust management across Trust and academy activities.
  • They ensure rigorous accountability with a relentless focus on the experience and educational outcomes of all children across the academies.
  • They ensure the effective and efficient use of resources and people.
  • They are the Accounting Officer for the Trust, responsible for ensuring the Trust meets its statutory and legal requirements.
  • As a system leader, the CEO represents AST with a wide range of stakeholders and partners and enables the Trust to fulfil its civic responsibilities.
  • They are influential education thought leaders who can promote the unique qualities of the Avanti Way.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working with faith providers of education and faith schools
  • Substantial knowledge of and engagement with Hindu communities
  • Evidence of national impact and contribution to the UK education system
  • Ability to communicate a vision of outstanding teaching and learning through inspiration and empowerment
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust environment
