What's involved with this role:
Interim Social Worker – Children in Care Reference no: SCC (HQ) 11325 Pay rate: Up to £31.08 per hour PAYE (tbc) depending on experience Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months Enhanced DBS required for this role Hybrid role, expectation to be in the office at least 3 days per week An experienced Social Worker is required to in the CIC team who are responsible for ensuring all children who are “Looked After” receive the support and services they need to allow them to grow up in stable, warm, healthy environments so they can reach their potential. Importantly, these teams hold enormous expertise in the court area and support or lead on cases within the court process and through the adoption process. It is expected that the Social Worker will be in the office at least 3 days a week. Some remote working can take place such as being at home to write reports. When on duty there is an expectation to be in the office. All visits to children will be face to face. Key responsibilities:

- Undertake assessments within Court Proceedings and manage Court cases.
- Parallel planning for adoption and holding some adoption cases and writing Rule 14 reports.
- Be case responsible for CIC which will include writing review reports.
- All visits to children will be face to face.
- Recognised Social Worker qualification. Relevant specialist post qualifying and or post graduate training.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Up-to-date understanding of the key issues and relevant theoretical background facing professional child care social workers, particularly related to children’s safeguarding and looked after children.
- Knowledge of child protection issues and child development.
- Substantial experience of working with children, young people and families.
- Experience of Child Protection and Safeguarding.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to use word and excel to produce reports carry out correspondence and keep accurate records.
- Knowledge and understanding of using appropriate assessment tools and research.
- Excellent organisational ability.
- Confidence to work on own initiative.
- Able to work under pressure.
