LEGAL SECRETARY/ASSISTANT
PRIVATE CLIENT DEPARTMENT
PORTSMOUTH
SALARY NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING UPON EXPERIENCE
A reputable high street practice are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Private Client department.
Duties to include;
- Store Wills in strong room, prepare Will envelopes and cards, enter Wills information onto database and register Wills with Certainty
- Retrieve and store documents in strong rooms
- Opening of files – folder, templates, new matter number and new instruction form
- File closure letters to include feedback letter
- Closure of files and weeding of files
- Taking telephone calls and messages/calls to book appointments
- Sending initial questionnaires and letters to new enquiries and able to take initial phone calls to send such letters
- Meeting with client walk in at the office to obtain initial information to assist fee earner
- Sending out post once signed by fee earner
- Photocopying and filing – daily administrative tasks
- Witness for Wills to include attending home visits
- Diary management and making appointments
- Be familiar with typing from dictation
- Prior knowledge of liberate/linetime is desirable but not essential
- Ability to prioritise tasks
- Team player – will be working for more than one fee earner to assist with leave/holiday etc
- Predominantly based in North End office but may be required to work in Waterlooville to assist holiday cover if required
- Working hours 9-5 Monday to Friday
