Salary: £21,030 - £22,677

Location: The Hall, Beverley

Hours: 37 hours

Contract: There are two permanent contracts available

Humberside Police is an active member of Safer Roads Humber, the regional road safety partnership and provides all enforcement activities in relation to safety cameras. We are looking to recruit a clerical assistant within the Central Ticket Office (CTO), whose main duties will be to process offences reported by Police Officers or recorded using safety cameras. The CTO processes all fixed penalty notices issued by Humberside Police, administers driver offender retraining courses on behalf of Safer Roads Humber and prepares files for court.

What Does It Entail?

  • Providing efficient and effective administrative support for the accurate processing of all files ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Ensuring crime is recorded accurately and discrepancies are brought to the notice of the appropriate personnel.
  • Managing own workload ensuring all statutory time limits are met.
  • Developing and maintaining a sound working knowledge of all relevant legislation, policies and procedures e.g. GDPR and disclosure of information; taking responsibility for own personal development in order to become proficient and multi functional in all areas of work.
  • Developing and maintaining effective interactive working relationships both within the Central Ticket Office Teams and outside agencies.
  • Responsible for using the NDM and THRIVE model in all actions undertaken.

What is Required?

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent or with significant working experience in the related area.
  • Experience of relevant clerical work incorporating a wide range of duties, along with experience of using computers and input and extract information.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills and good keyboard skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also on your own, using own initiative.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in all work, ability to prioritise and organise workload and complete tasks within a specified deadline.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training to develop within the role.
