The charity currently funds around 2,000 projects across the UK working with children and young people facing disadvantage across the UK. We are looking for a Celebrity Liaison Manager to join our team who has excellent experience and knowledge of celebrity relations (ideally within a charity environment) and contacts within the entertainment industry.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs Celebrity Liaison Manager, you will identify, recruit and manage celebrities and high profile ambassadors to support BBC Children in Need (and our partners) across a variety of campaigns, events, photo shoots, impact and fundraising activities and visits. You will work alongside the PR team and with other departments to ensure celebrity support that will raise awareness of the charity’s work and the issues it seeks to address throughout the year, as well as encouraging support for the annual Appeal. You will build and maintain productive relationships with our high-profile supporters and their agents.
You will advise and deliver on immediate projects and activities requiring talent support, as well as developing the charity’s approach to celebrity engagement. You will also work with internal stakeholders, devising and implementing plans to ensure that their needs are met.
The role also includes line management of one post.
Are you the right candidate?With experience gained within a PR/communications, talent agency or charity environment, you will have a demonstrable track record of recruiting celebrity support for a variety of campaigns, events and activities, including on behalf of a charity and/or good causes. In addition to your existing contacts with agents, publicists and artists, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to influence and negotiate talent and resolve issues, particularly in relation to building and sustaining long-term relationships.
You will possess strong organisational skills and experience of working as part of a team to plan and effectively manage high profile campaigns, events and activities involving talent. You will demonstrate the ability to think strategically about how we engage celebrities with our cause and meet the charity’s strategic objectives, whilst also being able to deliver immediate requirements for celebrity support, including overseeing photoshoots and other events.
Stakeholder management expertise, both internal and external, is essential. This will be supported by your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to build and maintain working relationships across a range of stakeholders, colleagues and levels and of driving relationships towards supporting a shared goal.
