A vacancy exists at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust for a part time Catholic Chaplain.
The successful candidate will be based at Sandwell Hospital but is expected to work across all our hospital sites including, City and Rowley Regis Hospitals, when required, as well as providing emergency services to some our community units.
The post is for 3.75 hrs. weekly. The Chaplaincy Team provide a 24 hr. on call service and candidates will participate in this as part of the role.

To share in the provision of the Chaplaincy’s service of spiritual and pastoral care to patients, relatives, staff, students and volunteers of who all are Roman Catholic, throughout the Trust.
He will belong to his own Chapter, Synod or faith group, and will need to work closely and in co-operation with others members of the Chaplaincy team and with local clergy/faith leaders, on an ecumenical basis wherever possible.
At Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS trust we are very proud of our Multi Faith Chaplaincy Team. To support us we have a group of volunteers from different faiths and Bank Chaplains if we require them.
Our team gets on really well together, we meet once a month to share some of the work we have been involved in and eat together. Our Muslim Chaplain always says 'where there is a meeting we must be eating'!!
The one thing we all have in common is the pastoral care of our patients, staff and families. We work collaboratively with Palliative Care, walking along side patients who are sometimes are nearing the end of their lives.
One of the benefits of this role, and because these hours are few, is that you can work yours to suit you, the Lead Chaplain has a 'rule of thumb' low control but high accountability'. If you can work like that you would be made very welcome.
