Job description
5 month fixed term contract until September 10th 2023
Do you have a passion for, and know how to help deliver exceptional customer service, and can help motivate teams to do the same? If you want a job that will excite and challenge you and offers you the opportunity to make a difference through your knowledge, ambition and hard work, then this might well be the role for you.
Following an award-winning year, where Brockhole-on-Windermere won ‘Best Large Tourist Attraction’, we are now looking to grow and diversify the service at our beautiful site, and we need a Cafes Team Leader to match demand and our own ambitions.
Do you want to:
- Work at one of the most exciting venues in the Lake District, at the heart of a World Heritage site, and still have most evenings off – no more 11pm finishes! (Outlets close around 5:30pm in high season and the café shuts at 4pm in winter - apart from private evening events)
- Give top quality customer service to a variety of clientele.
- Working across a range of outlets – from an award nominated restaurant and a very popular café to our fast-paced café outlets offering a variety of takeaway options.
- Work with a fantastic existing catering team.
- Help develop new ideas to grow the business across the site.
- Have the security of working for the Lake District National Park and enjoy all of the employment benefits entailed – competitive rates of pay, generous pension contributions and a friendly working environment.
What’s it like to work here?
Our cafe outlets, Garden Shed and Lakeshore Cafe opened in the Summer of 2018 and have become very popular on site. The offerings of hot and cold drinks for takeaway along with ice-cream is very attractive for those walking around the grounds or in between the activities on offer. Garden Shed is also host to a BBQ for burgers/hotdogs etc. Lakeshore hosts the highly popular vintage fish and chip van.
The main Brockhole Cafe is extremely busy and popular with families, looking for hearty lunches and delicious cakes served quickly and with a smile so they can get back out into the grounds and activities. During the peak periods we have a quick turn around of tables and need a team leader who is confident in assisting the supervisors and managers on shift to make sure everything runs smoothly with nothing but the best customer service.
With the Lake District now a designated World Heritage Site, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant contribution to the main visitor centre for the Lake District National Park, currently visited by over 300,000 people per year.
