Catering Assistants
Salary: £20,535.00

Location: Birmingham
Hours: 37.5 per week - Full time and Part Time position available - This position will be 5 days out of 7 working weekdays and rota’ d weekends with scope for working additional hours as required.


The Charity


St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare services. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.


St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 124 bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprises of eight units that cover medium and low security for both Men and Women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, easily accessible by road networks and public transport.


We are very proud that our Birmingham hospital is rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission and ‘Outstanding’ in responsiveness. We are also part of a wider healthcare provider collaborative, REACHOUT, working in association with two other NHS Trusts in the West Midlands.


The Role


As a Catering Assistant duties will include light food preparation in our kitchens, cleaning, washing up, accepting food deliveries from suppliers and putting away, food storage, stock rotation and delivery of ward food supplies, as a result this position will involve daily heavy manual handling and the pushing of loaded food trollies. You will need to adhere to food safety standards at all times and maintain up to date records.
