Category Assistant Marketing Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated, Category Assistant Marketing Manager to join the dynamic category marketing team based at Raunds, in Northamptonshire. As Category Assistant Marketing Manager, you will support the Category Marketing Manager in the implementation of a category focussed marketing plan as part of the wider marketing strategy for the company.
Highly organised with the ability to pay close attention to detail, you will execute a plan that delivers internal and external engagement of categories and products that drives awareness, understanding and ultimately sales through targeted activity.
A confident communicator, who can build and maintain excellent working relationships, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business in the implementation of both internal and external category marketing activities ensuring all are delivered to agreed plans.
What you will be doing:
- Manage the daily activities within a single category marketing plan to support the category and marketing teams remaining aligned and informed
- Create briefs for marketing and internal communications to ensure successful engagement and launch of new products and category specific activity
- Maintain and communicate an accurate product plan to inform category and product specific marketing and internal comms activity with timings and information for the wider marketing and internal comms teams
- Support the engagement of the depot’s sales team with the internal communications team to inform communication plans and marketing activity
- Maintain highly functional relationships between the marketing, internal communications, business planning and category teams and uphold ways of working that ensure critical timings are met
- Input into a cross category selling plan to increase add on sales and maximise opportunities to market multiple product categories without increasing spend
- Understand and support activity around own label brands to elevate the prominence within marketing and internal comms activity in line with category and brand ambitions
- Ensure reports are briefed and produced on category marketing activity in a timely way to ensure they can inform the future direction of category specific activity
- Proofing of marketing materials across all channels to ensure they are factually correct and highlight informative and engaging information
- Brief category specific events and displays content to ensure a consistent approach is adopted across all categories
- Support the Category Marketing Manager daily to move the Category Marketing function forward, raise the profile of the team and deliver tasks accurately on time
What we are looking for:
- A graduate standard or equivalent vocational qualification
- Previous experience in a Marketing or Category role is preferred
- Experience in supporting in stakeholder management activity
- Experience in producing, maintaining, and implementing a complex plan and activity
- Experience in a fast-paced trade category or marketing environment preferred
- Writing product communication materials
- Excellent project and time-management skills
- Strong EXCEL knowledge is also preferred
