Job summary
The Museum in the Park is set in beautiful surroundings and has its own magnificent walled garden. With some 4,000 objects on display it tells many stories of the people and the landscape of the Stroud District, and is also a premier venue for local artists and arts festivals, and community organisations, attracting over 60,000+ visitors a year to a full programme of exhibitions and events.
We are seeking people to join our friendly and energetic team on a casual basis, which has a commitment to providing excellent customer service to every visitor, whatever their needs, and to caring for the collection and the museum environment.
About you
To be a successful candidate you will need to demonstrate how you are motivated to deliver the very best customer service to all museum visitors so they will want to return, ensuring they enjoy their visit and engage with the museum and collections. You’ll need to demonstrate your ability to learn and apply that learning to the role. Other duties will include, to:
- Ensure high standards of maintenance and housekeeping
- Clean the museum before opening and after closing
- Perform routine tasks to the standard required
- Switch between tasks quickly and accurately
- Sell products and events to customers
- Help ensure that the shop and café areas are well maintained
- Help with exhibitions, workshops and events, including room set-up
- Invigilate galleries, museum and public areas
- Assist with the delivery of school visits and family activities
