Your next role

The Aiming High Shorts Break Team work to develop positive activities and short breaks for children and young people with disabilities in Swindon. Here at Swindon Borough Council we want all children to have the best start in life and the ongoing support they and their families need to fulfil their potential.

We are looking for workers who are available to cover various session which include: Week day evenings, Saturday day time and school holidays to support young people in specialist out of school clubs that are co-ordinated by the Aiming High Team. We offer a comprehensive paid training package.

As a part of the team you will be working directly with children and young people with a range of additional support needs. You will assist in providing a stimulating, safe and fun environment.

We are looking for staff who will support children and young people to build relationships, develop new skills, try new activities and seek out new opportunities. You must have a positive attitude and be able to bring passion and energy to this role in order to achieve this.

Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent you will have experience of working with disabled children and young people, and share our passion for ensuring the best possible support is available. We will look to you to be committed to creating a diverse workforce to reflect the children and families we work with. In return, we will ensure that you will receive a comprehensive induction and training program relevant to the post.

Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
