The Richmond City Justice Center/Finance Division is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Cashier II. This position’s core responsibilities will be to ensure compliance and control of residents’ funds and a variety of general support accounting tasks. This position reports directly to the Business Finance Manager. The work location is the Richmond City Justice Center.
The Cashier II shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Assist with ensuring residents’ funds are posted accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintains accurate records of residents’ financial accounts and assuring proper postings
- Reconcile cash accounts
- Assure residents are released with the appropriate funding
- Appropriately investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Ability to multi-task
- Manage financial transactions accurately and efficiently
- Performs a variety of general office and accounting support tasks for an effective operation within the division
The preferred candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in the administrative/cashier field or related area. Must have a high level accuracy and be intensely detail-oriented. Must be proficient in the usage of the English language which involves the ability to read, write and speak. Should be able to demonstrate competencies in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. The preferred candidate will possess strong organizational skills, being detailed-oriented, data entry ability, financial and professional customer service skills.
