DESCRIPTION
Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo is looking for a motivated person to fill a retail sales position in the Gift Shop. Gift Shop associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Gift Shop associates are also responsible for running cash registers at the zoo.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Greeting all customers upon entering the facility
- Possessing product knowledge of merchandise, admission prices, and animal offerings
- Maintaining the in-stock condition of the gift shop
- Ensuring the retail space is clean, shoppable, and safe
- Observing all company policies & standards
- Exceptional use of time management techniques
- Understanding the significance of their role and how they can positively impact visitors; proactive, friendly communication will be expected at all times, as well as anticipating visitors’ needs and desires
- Performing other related duties as assigned
- Ability to work 8+ hour shifts
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule
EDUCATION AND PRE-REQUISITES
Previous retail experience is preferred. Candidates will need to have good communication skills, be able to follow specific instruction and to communicate activities and observations clearly in writing and verbally.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a part time position that involves working on weekends and holidays. Compensation commensurate with experience.
