Cash and Voucher Assistance Delegate
Location: Damascus, Syria
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (1 year)
Salary: £33,883 - £37,409 per annum + £1,719.39 monthly allowance

Could you provide crucial specialist experience in the field of Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) to the earthquake response in Syria?

The Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Delegate will play a key role in supporting the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in delivering the Cash Strategy designed to respond to the February 2023 earthquakes in line with their existing Cash and Voucher Assistance Preparedness programme.

About the Role
The CVA Delegate will ensure effective, efficient and appropriate use of BRC and Red Cross Red Crescent Movement resource in SARC to respond to emergencies, build resilience in vulnerable communities, and strengthen organisational capacity in relation to CVA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main CVA technical focal point supporting the Earthquake Operation
  • Support SARC in delivering the Earthquake response cash strategy, including engagement in designing, implementing, monitoring, assessing, and learning.
  • Support SARC on integrating CVAP existing systems and tools through all programme activities, ensuring compliance through the provision of timely and effective advice, as well as capacity building through training and learning events.
  • Proactively build, maintain and manage the relationships with the RCRC Movement partners in country in relation to the Earthquake CVA programmes. Support documentation of the CVA response processes and experiences for use across the Movement.
  • Represent BRC and the RCRC Movement, when appropriate, at national fora and as requested by the BRC Programme Manager in Syria
What we are looking for

Demonstrable experience of working in a relevant role or sector and strong knowledge of cash assistance within the International Humanitarian System of International Development context.

Proven technical expertise within cash assistance and experience of designing and implementing cash assistance and market-based interventions in relief and recovery contexts.

Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

Proven experience in establishing effective relationships to coordinate and influence decision making.

Experience working with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement desirable, but not mandatory.
