Job description
At Sheds and Shelters we manufacture and install sheds, summerhouses, and garden rooms to customers specifications. We are based in Maidstone Kent; our customers are based in the surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on our product, quality and service and are looking for someone to join our team and work as one of the manufacturers.
The role will be predominately manufacturing the bespoke garden buildings purchased by our customers. The role will be based in our factory in Lenham, Maidstone Kent, working with other staff and Managers.
Hours of Work Monday to Friday, 8 - 4.30. Weekend work may sometimes be required. We are looking for someone who has knowledge of carpentry and can undertake specific instructions, work at a fast pace while maintaining attention to detail. · Problem solving is key as ‘not everything goes to plan’. Driving is not essential but is a definite advantage. We are also looking for a forward thinker and have experience and skills that will allow you to deal with problems that occur in the workshop. You must also be able to carry timber panels that are constructed in the factory. Good communication skills are needed together with a ability to work with a team. Experience on manufacturing garden buildings is not essential but a clear understanding of the skills associated with carpentry is essential. Good time keeping, friendly manner, ability to work in a team and enjoy a laugh or two. Your experience working with wood, will be essential to ensure that you can problem solve and use your experience to deal with any issue that arises. Buildings and specifications need to be followed to ensure the customer building has been made according to the order form.
Communicate with the office managers also forms part of the role. A good understanding of HSE in order that you can work in a tidy manner and understand the implications if you don't. This is a new position in Sheds and Shelters; we are growing the business and need to have the calibre of person to help us grow and work with us. Possibilities of promotion are also available if you can fit easily into this busy environment.
