Job description
Location: RESPECT School sites
Hours: 37 hours a week. Hours would be 10:00 – 18:00 but flexibility would be required to potentially go onto a split shift if required (i.e. cover a Site Manager or other business needs)
Contract type: Permanent, to start as soon as possible
Full driving licence is essential
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and ambitious Caretaker / Handyperson to join our successful and expanding Facilities team. Our collection of schools is not only changing but also growing which has led to this opportunity.
Based across several Respect Schools Sites you will have support and guidance to develop and excel. Our schools mantra is great today, better tomorrow; we know our support teams are as important as our teaching teams.
You will assist Site Managers with planned maintenance and carry out day to day repairs within the reasonable capacity of a normal handyperson. Experience working in educational environments and an understanding of health & safety regulations, including CoSHH and risk assessments is desirable but not essential, support, guidance and mentoring will be given to you. Over time there could be the opportunity to develop to become a Site Manager.
You will need to be able to approach your working day, with the ability to identify work priorities and manage your workload whilst ensuring that lower priority work is completed, as a result this will require you to be flexible.
