Caretaker / Premises Officer
Location: Welling School, Bexley
Business Area: Facilities Management – Bexley Schools
Contract: Permanent, full time - 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday - alternating shifts of 6am to 3pm / 10am to 7pm
Salary: £11.05 per hour with great benefits package
Kier Places are recruiting now for a Caretaker to join us at Welling School to assist in maintaining an effective PFI Facilities Management service delivery on our Bexley Schools contract.
Key Responsibilities
Provide your expertise today in this important Caretaker role - your day-to-day activities will include taking deliveries, carrying emergency cleaning as required, conducting adjustments and maintenance, reporting building maintenance issues to the office team, locking and unlocking of grounds, managing site security, carrying out fire and safety precautions across the site, liaise with the facilities teams regarding work progress, and work closely with subcontractors.
The role will include general building maintenance duties to ensure the site meets the required standard such as: low level lamp changing, minor joinery repairs, minor plumbing repairs, grounds maintenance such as litter picking/snow clearing/gritting, portering duties, machine cleaning, and other tasks relative to the skill level of the role.
What are we looking for?
Give back to your community - the ideal Caretaker candidate should have previous experience within a Maintenance, Caretaker or Porter role with a strong emphasis on delivering effective customer service.
You’ll be able to engage with colleagues & the client in a positive manner and able to conduct any heavy lifting involved in line with the manual safety handling training, and also be able to produce paperwork and information to be used for reporting.
