Job description
Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to support a 6-year-old girl who lives at home with her mum, dad, and brother in Brixham. This little girl has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and requires someone who is confident with the following:
- Deep suction - Physio - PEG Feeding - Cough Assist - Medication handling
She is a bright, clever little girl with a great sense of humour. She loves music, books, and using her iPad. She attends school with support. Join our amazing team and help us make a real difference.
You will be working 1:1 - This young girl will usually be asleep whilst you are on shift. We are looking for someone who is confident with people, is committed, and willing to learn. Will not accept smokers.
The ideal candidate would be a seasoned carer with a solid understanding of personal care, and experience with moving and handling.
Pay Rates:
- £13.80 p/hr Monday - Thursday
- £14.05 p/hr Friday
- £16.05 p/hr Saturday - Sunday
- £19.05 p/hr Bank Holidays
Shifts:
Wed / Thurs / Friday – 10pm – 8am
Every Other Saturday – 10pm – 8am
You need to be an experienced carer. It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need. You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent. Training is paid for.
It's vital that we have staff consistency and so you will be required to pick up a minimum number of shifts. You will be able to pick up more shifts each week if you would like to. Weekday shifts and Weekend shifts are available. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.
Full mileage paid from home to this location in Brixham up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.
