Care Support Worker – Maternity

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust provides a wide range of hospital-based and community services across Worcestershire with specialist services including oncology, radiotherapy, stroke services and cardiac stenting. Locations covered: Alexandra Hospital and Worcester Royal Hospital
Band 2
Day Rate - £10.90 per hour
Night/Sat Rate - £15.37 per hour
Sun/Bank Holiday Rate - £19.95 per hour
What you’ll be responsible for –
- Communicate with patients, visitors, and carers to ensure they are comfortable and safe.
- Assist with the admission, safe transfer, and discharge of the patient and babies.
- Maintain patient clinical records in a concise, accurate and timely manner.
- Support families/carers as directed by the Registered Midwife and multidisciplinary team.
- Comply with the Trust Moving and Handling policy.
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
- You are currently studying as a Student Midwife having completed 12 weeks’ clinical placement.
- You have completed one of the following: a Level 2 NVQ or Apprenticeship Diploma in Health and Social Care, a level 2+ BTEC national diplomas in Health and Social Care or you have a Care Certificate from another NHS Organisation.
- If you are not a student nurse and have one of the qualifications above, you will have a minimum of 12 months’ experience in the last 2 years in a hospital or hospice environment, in the Maternity department
