What you’ll be responsible for

  • Building relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to their needs and concerns.
  • Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing.
  • Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above

You’ll have the following qualification/experience:

  • A minimum of 3 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant (Forensic Mental Health) or studying as a Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks clinical placements, studying towards a relevant Nursing degree.
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by the nurse in charge of the unit/ward, undertaking duties and activities, with limited or indirect supervision.
  • Carry out procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with Trust guidelines.
  • Undertake regular mandatory training

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
