Home Instead are one of the UK's leading providers of care assistants and support workers for the elderly with over 249+ offices nationwide and we have a highly successful team of care professionals who visit our clients in their own homes, offering support and assistance where needed.
We are now looking for people who reside in Borehamwood & Potters Bar locations or thereabouts, (also Welwyn Garden City & Hatfield), to join our wonderful team of Healthcare Support Workers & Care Assistants.
We are recruiting new people who are seeking a career in Adult Care, to work in the community and who feel they have the right qualities to become one of our very special and supportive team members.
We are very interested in speaking to people who may not have previously considered starting a new career in Adult Care, but who now feel they have the wisdom, expertise, and common sense to embark on something fresh and new.
We are also interested in hearing from people who are seeking an additional income and are struggling to meet their commitments. Ideally you will be able to offer us 16 hours or more each week.
Our job opportunities really suit people who need flexibility in their working patterns, so we are happy to discuss with you your individual availability and see if we can accommodate the hours you wish to work, if we can, we will! Mornings, afternoons and evening work, weekends or a mixture are available.
We do require that you have a car - this is essential to enable you to travel between clients each day. We also require you to be able to work your standard hours on a Saturday and Sunday on alternate weekends.
We cannot offer sponsorship to overseas candidates at this time.

Care Assistant & Support Worker duties include:
- Personal Care, ensuring that your clients are washed and dressed each day and any incontinence issues have been resolved.
- Light housework, this includes meal preparation, dusting, hoovering, cleaning the fridge, putting rubbish out when appropriate and general ensuring that the home and environment is safe for your clients.
- Companionship, it can be very lonely being old and having someone to communicate with on a daily basis can make all the difference to an older persons mental health. Perhaps, to take them shopping, or to get their medication, to appointments or social events, helping them live a life instead of surviving.
Each day is different and each person you will be dealing with is unique, your support and the assistance they require will change with each client you work with.....get ready for some hard work and lots of fun.
We offer in return:
- Real rates of pay averaging £13.00 per hour (basic starts at £11.00 per hour) + extra rate for weekend hours worked. Uplifted for QCF level 2+ qualified candidates.
- Double time for bank holiday working.
- Holiday pay and pension entitlement.
- We pay for all training undertaken - ongoing training included.
- No fixed shifts, we try to accommodate your preferred hours, if possible.
- Work schedule given a week in advance.
- Minimum 1 hour visits.
- £0.30 pence per mile travel allowance.

We fully train all of our new employees, so whatever your previous experience I am interested in hearing from you. Our Award Winning Training is fully paid and comprises of e-learning and in-house workshops.
We do insist you have a car - we work in the community so it is essential.
We also require you to work your agreed hours on alternative weekends - if you wish to work every weekend then that is also welcome.
