About the Role
At Westlands we want every resident in our care home to get the highest standard of care. By giving older people a good quality of life we're making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live for all. As a Care Assistant, you will be working directly with our residents in Leighton Buzzard and you'll find your greatness as you make sure vulnerable people are safe, well and happy.
This is an important role for which you will receive our full support, including full training and induction. Your main task will be to provide personalised care to the residents giving you an opportunity to show kindness while making things simple and having fun. You will help with washing and personal hygiene, preparing drinks and snacks, and administering medication if necessary, once training is complete. Every resident is different, and you will need to respect their individuality. We are all about creating a friendly, supportive environment - one where independence is promoted and the residents are free to make their own choices.
Ideally, you will have worked with elderly people before, including those with Dementia and physical disabilities. However, we are interested in people with a naturally caring attitude, who are honest and hold a strong level of humility.
Join us, and you will have an opportunity to build your skills with high quality training. Even better, you will find your greatness by taking care of people and enhancing their well-being.
Westlands Residential Home will close its doors towards the end of the year but you will be given an opportunity to join the new providers at Marigold House.
What we can offer you
As well as joining a friendly, dedicated, and hardworking team you will have access to numerous benefits, including:
- A comprehensive IT package to support you to work safely and effectively
- Annually paid social work fees for qualified social workers in adults and children’s (including senior practitioners) and Team Managers where required
- Generous family friendly policies and practices
- A welcoming and inclusive environment that empowers differences
- Friendly and supportive staff networks
- Annual leave allowance 24 days + statutory holidays rising to 31 days with length of service.
