Care Assistant - Extra Care (Nights)

Care Assistant - Extra Care (Nights) Southampton, England

Cera Care
Full Time Southampton, England 10 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

We are recruiting Care Assistants for our Extra Care unit in Southampton. To join us as a Care Assistant, you don't need any previous experience. It may be that you have cared for a vulnerable loved one, experienced a personal loss or be a charitable person that is always looking to help others. That kind of experience gives you rare skills undefined compassion, understanding and patience. Things that no amount of work experience or qualifications can ever provide.

We're recruiting for part-time and full-time permanent positions, days and nights. It's secure work that comes with good pay, great training, and real prospects.

As a valued employee, you'll have access to WeCare - our new employee benefits platform which offers shopping discounts and cashback from over 800 retailers, as well as access to our employee assistance program, Healthcare Cashplan, Eyecare Plan and a wellbeing centre to support you with your mental and physical health.

What's involved?

Extra Care units offer residents their own self contained living space within a larger building, with access to care staff who are based within the unit and who provide care to each resident. As a care assistant at our Extra Care Unit, you will be supporting residents to live as independently as possible, with personalised care and support plans in place.

Every client's needs are different. You may assist with a bit of housework or help with getting up in the morning. A tasty hot meal and a listening ear. A hand with meds or getting washed and dressed. But more than this, our carers become friends, providing human company, encouragement and maybe a laugh or two, often when life has become a bit tough. Caring isn't always easy, but a lot of families will be grateful that you did.

If caring sounds like your kind of job, then you're our kind of person.

Important details

  • You must be comfortable providing Personal Care
  • You should be 18+ and have the right to work in the UK
  • Caring is a 24/7 job therefore our carers work various shifts including evenings and alternate weekends, there are also night shifts available in our Extra Care Units.
  • To get you started you'll receive uniforms, a DBS/PVG check, a mobile phone, comprehensive e-learning, paid assessment day training and shadowing shifts.
  • You'll also get 3 days paid training per year for continuous development and the opportunity to work towards professional qualifications.

Why work for us?

Being a Carer with us is not just about serving the community. It's about being one. You'll be working with people like you, who'll be there through the good times and the challenging!

On joining us you'll train for the industry-recognised Care Certificate, and you'll shadow experienced colleagues while you learn the ropes. And in a growing company like Cera there are genuine promotion prospects, to team leader, care specialist or into management.

Then there are branch teams and care specialists you can call on with concerns. And our technology, which will let you concentrate on care, instead of paperwork. We're revolutionising social care and want YOU to be part of our journey.
