This position offers company car, accomodation and sponsorship visa if required.
Provide care and support to people in their own homes. We support the elderly, younger adults, support people with learning difficulties, support individuals with mental health issues and physical disabilities and individuals with different stages of dementia. Assist with personal care, medication, and meal preparation, light domestic housework and shopping.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Use your own initiative and work independently as well as within a team.
- Be compassionate and understanding of other’s needs.
- Valid driving licence and own transport is essential.
- To be flexible and possibly work some unsociable hours to ensure client’s needs are met.
- Be willing to take on extra calls at short notice to cover staff sickness
- If your availability is weekdays only, you will be required to work one day on a weekend, once a month.
- All carers are subject to a positive DBS check.
- All carers are to attend Mandatory training sessions on Moving & Handling, Medication, Safeguarding Vulnerable adults, Food Hygiene, Infection control, First Aid and the Care Certificate.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
- All care assistants prior to starting will complete the mandatory training and will shadow with a senior carer on their round of calls until they feel confident to do this alone. (Shadowing may be out of your chosen area)
- You will be paid for all training and shadowing sessions.
- We provide all care assistants with a uniform; the first 2 tunics are free. Additional clothing is available at a small cost.
- Training Payment will be made at a rate of £30 per full day and £15 per half day during periods of training, this is paid with your first month’s salary.
