To work as part of a team providing effective, responsive and meaningful care and support to service users who experience mental health problems. Working in a residential setting your role will involve encouraging independence, assisting with developing and maintaining daily living skills, supporting activities in the community, prompting personal care. You will be working hand’s on with services users who have conditions such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, acquired brain injury, or suffer from alcohol /substance misuse
Main Responsibilities and Duties
· To work in partnership with the Residents, their families, The Beeches staff and other professionals ensuring that care plans are implemented in line with current professional practice and The Beeches policies and procedures.
· To be aware of the psychological, social, physical and spiritual needs of all service users and work with other team members in the role of key worker to develop and implement person centred individual care plans. To monitor residents' wellbeing, address any changes and report changes to your line manager.
· To help provide a safe, clean, comfortable and therapeutic environment for service users and report and act on any concerns in line with current safeguarding practice and social care legislation.
· To follow the correct procedures for the safe administration, control and storage of drugs and medicines. To monitor and record drug storage temperatures, and report any adverse temperature variances which may affect the efficacy of medication stored to the registered manager or provider.
· To work on a rotating shift pattern including sleep in duties and provide on-call support on a rota basis. To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Health & Safety and Food Hygiene Regulations. To follow The Beeches policies and procedures and to report any concerns.
· To read and write reports, and to participate in service user meetings. To undertake competency checks of care and support workers and contribute toward any new employees induction and training.
· To undertake other duties, as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Up to £10.42 per hour
